Taking pictures of jewelry can be a tricky business. This tutorial will show you how to take good pictures of your jewelry, even with your cell phone.
1. Lightbox
First, you'll need a lightbox. You can make it by yourself in no time. I've used instructions from this tutorial:

2. Taking a photo
I've made my lightbox a bit too tall, so the pictures weren't really that good. They were way too dark.
For example:
With proper lightbox proportions, editing would probably not be necessary.
3. Editing
Download Google Picassa. (it's free).
After you have installed it, launch it and open your photo file.
Click on "autocolor"

Then click on "finely tuned lighting and color fixes"
And start playing with "fill light, highlights and shadows"

In this case, we are finished. But sometimes a corner shadows can be formed when playing with Picasa tuning. Like in this example:

You can get rid of those in no time. You can use MS Paint, but Photoshop would of course be the better option.
Open Photoshop. Pick brush tool (or just press B on your keyboard) and paint the corners and all around the jewelry white.
